1. Read only the first sentence of a paragraph 只讀每段第一句話Good writers begin each paragraph with a key statement that tells you what that paragraph is about. By reading only the first sentence, you can determine if the paragraph has information you need to know.
高水平的作者會在段首用中心句說明段落大意。只要閱讀第一句話你就能判斷這段話是否有你需要了解的信息。
2. Skip to the last sentence of the paragraph 直接跳到段落尾句The last sentence in a paragraph should also contain clues for you about the importance of the material covered. The last sentence often serves two functions -- it wraps up the thought expressed and provides a connection to the next paragraph.
段落尾句也會提示你這段材料涵蓋的重要信息。它通常有兩種功能：承上和啟下。
3. Read phrases 以短語為單位閱讀Move your eyes quickly over each line and look for phrases and key words. Your mind will automatically fill in the words between.

4. Ignore the little words 忽略小詞Ignore the little words like it, to, a, an, and, be -- you know the ones. You don't need them. Your brain will see these little words without acknowledgment.

5. Look for key points 尋找要點Look for key points while you're reading for phrases. You are probably already aware of the key words in the subject you're studying. They pop out at you. Spend a little more time with the material around those key points.
以短語為單位閱讀時要關(guān)注要點。很可能你已經(jīng)意識到了所讀文章的關(guān)鍵詞，它們會在閱讀過程中跳到你眼前。多花點時間在要點附近的詞句上。
6. Mark key thoughts in the margins 在頁邊寫出中心思想If the book is yours, mark key thoughts in the margins or slap one little sticky tab on the page with a short note. When it's time to review, simply read through your tabs.
