The Mid-autumn Festival is a traditional festival with a long history in China. It is very popular and is also celebrated in many other Asian countries.
The festival falls on the 15th day of August of the lunar calendar. It is a time to get together with family and friends. People usually gather together enjoying a big meal. In the evening people talk and eat moon cakes under the bright and round moon. Children prefer to listen to fairy tales about Chang"e or Wugang.
The moon is a symbol of reunion, luck and wealth. It is also a custom to express best wishes to people they love at this particular time.
