首先看一篇道歉信~
要求：You are the secretary of a computer hardware company. Write an email to Mr Gatt one of your customers, to apologise for the inconvenience createdbecause he has not received an order. Mr Gatt’s email address is joegatt@webcom.net.mt . You should write between 60 and 80 words.
To: joegatt@webcom.net.mt
Subject: Missing Order
Dear Mr Gatt,
I am sorry to hear about the problems you have been experiencing with the order you placed with us on the 23rd January.[1] I cannot as yet say who is at fault but I assure you there will be a full investigation.[2] Moyra Brown, who is our production assistant, will contact you shortly to arrange suitable compensation for the inconvenience that has been caused.[3]
I would like to apologise once more.[4]

[0]這篇道歉信比較短，不知道日常生活中的道歉信是否也這么短。或許是因為對方本來就可能比較生氣了，再發(fā)一篇長篇大論可能對方也不想看，對方其實就像知道問題怎么解決，后果誰承擔(dān)。因此這篇郵件的邏輯基本也是按照這一順序。
[1]開頭道歉。[2]然后可能會講述問題原因，或者將解決方案先講完，再解釋原因(如果比較長)。
[3]解決辦法，越細(xì)越好，落實到人頭和時間。這里用的shortly，或許發(fā)完郵件當(dāng)天就會著手處理，但如果解決的時間比較長一些，或許應(yīng)寫明大約需要多少時間。
[4]最后再次道歉。
再來看一篇非正式的郵件~
要求：You cannot go for basketball practice. Write an email to your coach, George explaining why. George’s address is george.xerri@vmail.com . You should use between 50 and 60 words.

Subject: Basketball Practice
Hi George,
I’m really, really sorry but I just can’t make it for basketball practice this evening. We’ve got a biology test tomorrow and I haven’t yet started studying for it. I can’t afford to fail the test, because I already failed the last one.
I promise to make up for it by the next practice session.

*邏輯同上，首先道歉，然后解釋原因，然后表明態(tài)度、補救措施——I promise to make up for it by the next practice session。由于比較簡短，也并不非常正式，最后禮節(jié)性的結(jié)尾就省去了。
