一、在"...than..."句中：
He is taller than I.(口語中常作：He is taller than me.)
他比我高。
He is two heads taller than I.

二、在"which..., ...or...?"句中，表示兩者比較：
Which is bigger, the sun or the moon?
太陽和月亮，哪一個更大?
三、比較級+and+比較級：
Its getting darker and darker.
天越來越黑了。
He is getting more and more interested in sports.
他對體育越來越感興趣。
四、The more..., the more...：
The more you eat, the more you want.
你越吃越想要。
五、形容詞比較級前可受 much, far, a lot, still, no, a little, even, any 修飾，表示超出的程度：
We have a much better life now.

The buildings look far uglier in London than here.

若甲乙程度相同，as…as 結構體。甲某方面不及乙，用 not so/as…as表示。上述內容全記起，比較等級談完畢。
英文中的形容詞和副詞一般都有三種級的形式即：原級(The Positive Degree)，比較級(The Comparative Degree)和最高級(The Superlative Degree)。
1) 同級比較往往由"as + 形容詞/ 副詞的原形 + as"的句式表達;當然也要注意它的否定形式、以及在第一個as前加倍數或程度副詞的情況。
2)"比較級 + than"引導不同級的比較。"比較級" 前同樣可以加倍數或程度副詞。另外"no more …than"意思是"A和B一樣不……" 。
3) 形容詞的最高級前一般必須有定冠詞the;但是也有不加定冠詞the的幾種情況。
一、 同級比較中有兩種情況：
A 表示雙方情況"一模一樣"，用as + 原級 + as的結構;
B 表示雙方情況"不(那么)一樣"，用not so / as + 原級 + as的結構。在這兩種結構中，第一個as是副詞，而第二個as是連詞;在第二個as的后面接名詞、句子或代詞的主格(一般不要接代詞的賓格)。例如：
My parcel is as heavy as yours . 我的包裹與他的一樣沉。
His bedroom is not as neat as his sisters. 他的臥室沒有他姐姐的整潔。
It is not so hot as yesterday. 今天不象昨天那么熱。
*在as … as 的結構中，我們還常見這樣兩種句型：as much + 不可數名詞 + as 和as many + 復數可數名詞 + as 。例如：
He has learned as many English words as his brother (has ) . 他已學了和他哥哥一樣多的英文單字。
二、形容詞比較級的用法:
形容詞的比較級用于兩個人或事物的比較,其結構形式如下:
主語+謂語(系動詞)+ 形容詞比較級+than+ 對比成分。 也就是, 含有形容詞比較級的主句+than+從句。注意從句常常省去意義上和主句相同的部分, 而只剩下對比的成分。
Our teacher is taller than we are. 我們老師的個子比我們的高。
It is warmer today than it was yesterday. 今天的天氣比昨天暖和。
This picture is more beautyful than that one. 這張照片比那張照片漂亮。
The sun is much larger than the moon. 太陽比月亮大得多。
三、形容詞最高級的用法:
形容詞最高級用于兩個以上的人和物進行比較, 其結構形式為:
主語+謂語(系動詞)+the+形容詞最高級+名詞+表示范圍的短語或從句。
She is the best student in her class. 她是班上最好的學生。
Shanghai is one of the largest cities in China. 上海是中國最大城市之一。
基本句型
同級比較
1.由“···as + 形容詞原型 + as···”或“···as + 形容詞 + 名詞 + as···”構成。My grandpa is as energetic as a young man.Exercise is as useful a way as any other to lose unwanted weight.I try to find as much information as I can about what happened.
2.由“···not so （as） + 形容詞或副詞原型 + as···”或“···not so （as） + 形容詞 + 名詞 + as···”構成。Luckily， the weather is not so wet as it is today.
降級比較
1.由“···形容詞比較級+ than···”構成。He is more concerned about others than about himself.
2.由“···many / much more + 可數 / 不可數名詞 + than···”My friend earned much more money than I did last year.
特殊句型
1.表示“越來越……”的意思： “比較級 + and + 比較級”或“more and more / less and less + 原級”結構，與這類結構搭配的常用動詞有grow,get,become等。She felt herself becoming more and more nervous.As the winter is drawing near,its getting colder and colder.
2.表示兩者之間更···the + 比較級 + of the two + 名詞。Jane is the taller of the two children in our family.
3.表示“越……”：“the + 比較級···，”，The more magazines you sell,the more money you will get.
4.“否定 + 比較級” 相當于最高級。— Wait until we get a satisfactory reply,will you?— I couldnt agree more. The idea sounds great to me.
5.“a + 比較級 + 名詞（than……）” 結構常出現在以never構成的完成時態的動詞后面。How beautifully she sings！I have never heard a better voice.
6.倍數表示法：……times as +形容詞原級 + as···；···times + 形容詞比較級 + than···；···times the + 性質名詞 + of···。The dining hall is three times as large as that one.The dining hall is three times larger than that one.The dining hall is three times the size of that one.
比較級表示最高級
英語中用比較級句型可以表最高級的含義，較為常見的有下列幾種形式：
1、直接使用比較級
① How beautiful she sings! Ive never heard a better voice. = She has the best voice Ive ever heard. ② I have never read a more interesting novel. = It is the most interesting novel Ive ever read.
any other + n.（單）
2、比較級+ than + the other +n.（復）
any of the other + n.（復）
① She goes to school earlier than the other girls. ② He works harder than any other student.
③ China is larger than any of the other countries in Asia.
3、比較級 + than + anything/ anyone else ① George did more work than anyone else.
② Tom cared more for money than for anything else.
4、在比較句型中使用 "no", "nobody", "nothing" + better than…等詞。 ① I likenothing betterthan swimming. ② Nobody can do the work better than he did. ③ No other building is as grand as the new hotel.
