As the winter holiday is approaching, our school suggests that senior two students take tutorial classes or study at their own pace at home. As far as I’m concerned, I prefer learning on my own.
To begin with, self-study makes it possible for us to find out our own problems in study, and focus our time and energy on how to solve them more efficiently. Besides, we will be able to develop our abilities of independent learning, which will lead us to success in the future. What’s more, compared with tutorial classes, studying on our own is cheap and convenient. We can choose whenever we like to study, either at home or in the library, instead of covering a long distance to the tutorial center at a high cost.
In conclusion, self-learning is a good way for us to develop more independently.

As a saying goes, “All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy.” Proper exercise and entertainments are of great benefit to us. They not only build up our bodies, but also reduce our tension. As for me, I’d like to listen to some music, which prevents me from being trapped in pressure.
What’s more, we should never stay up too late. Now the health condition of us high school students is far from satisfactory. It is obvious that lack of sleep only leads to the decline of our health and makes us distracted in class. On the contrary, high-quality sleep can give us the energies to overcome the stress, thus further improving ourstudy efficiency.
Last but not least, we shouldn’t be reluctant to turn to teachers and parents if we fail to remove stress by ourselves. After all, their advice is far more valuable because they have much experience in dealing with stress and helping us relax. Personally, I have learned a lot from my parents when facing stress, and feel quite relieved after a sincere talk with my teachers.
Therefore, stress is no longe rfrightening because with effective ways in hand we have every reason to believe that it will find its own way and leave. I sincerely hope all that I have mentioned above will do you a favor to drive away the stress.

Nowadays, a growing trend has arisen that more and more tourists enjoy touring around the campus of famous universities, thus making university campuses one of the hottest tourist destinations. Personally, I’m against the trend and hold the ground that campuses should not be open to tourists. The reasons are as follows.
In the first place, universities serve as educational facilities where teaching and learning are carried out. Frequent visits from tourists are likely to hinder the daily teaching process, damaging the academic environment of famous universities as well as bringing much inconvenience to the school faculties and students.
Moreover, school campuses should be protected from over-commercialization. In spite of the fact that campus tours spur tourism and even bring funds to the university itself, the university should maintain its originality and the academic atmosphere. After all, universities should be used for academic purposes only, not making profits.
Last but not least, young adults and professors do need a quiet and undisturbedenvironment in which they can concentrate on their studies and research.
Due to the reasons above, the conclusion can be made that school campuses should not be open to tourists. And I hope that certain regulations will be issued to protect our academic facilities from tourism.
